Westview finished 11th out of 16 teams Saturday at the Manchester Invitational girls cross country meet.
Kylie Barker’s 22nd-place effort of 21:48.66 led the Lady Warriors, who wound up with a team score of 220. New Prairie was first with a count of 58 while Fremont, led by the 3-4 finish of Katie Culler (19:53.45) and Abby Hostetler (19:56.61), took second with 82.
Sierra Weaver and Kathy Franklin followed Barker in the Westview lineup, Weaver placing 42nd in 23:14.68 and Franklin 43rd in 23:18.75. Elaine Mullett was 59th in 24:06.97, Jeannie Bontrager 63rd in 24:24.08, Hope Brandenberger 67th in 24:35.24 and Alexis Brandau 85th in 26:09.53.
Rachel Thompson of New Prairie gained medalist honors with a time of 19:23.50. Jenna Halderman of Northfield grabbed second in 19:31.45.
The Westview boys cross country team finished in 14th place at Saturday’s Manchester Invitational.
Led by Derek Miller’s 23rd-place run of 18:00.48, the Warriors came in with a team score of 318. Daniel Flores was 38th in 18:21.43, Devin Sharick 74th in 19:27.89, Spencer Shank 90th in 20:31.11, Brock Miller 93rd in 20:35.78, Coby Knowles 109th in 21:38.05 and Caleb Mishler 124th in 25:19.47.
Carroll (Allen) took home the boys team championship with a score of 91. Mt. Vernon (Fortville) was second with 139 points.
David Kampf of New Prairie claimed first place individually with a time of 16:44.65. Brent Bales of Norwell was the runner-up with a clocking of 17:08.85.
