Man recaptured after escaping from courthouse

Shortly before 3 p.m. on September 9, a Rome City man escaped from the LaGrange County Courthouse on foot while being taken into custody after he was sentenced to 55 days in jail for probation violation.

    After a search of the area, Devin C. Combs was found and taken into custody without incident.

    He was taken to the LaGrange County Jail on a charge of escape.

    Assisting in the search for Combs was the LaGrange Police Department.

    A report is being forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review and consideration of charges.
