A LaGrange man is facing animal cruelty charges after being arrested last week.
David Schmucker, 40, of LaGrange was arrested last Thursday and charged with four counts of animal cruelty and a single count of failure to dispose of a dead animal.
According to court records, an investigation was started after a complaint from neighbors on the condition of animals at Schmucker’s home. Documents noted that investigators found one dead horse at the site and other horses in poor physical shape.
A visit by investigator a few days later led to the discovery of two additional dead horses.
This is the second time within the last six years that Schmucker is facing animal cruelty charges.
