Man arrested after drugs found in pickup at sheriff’s department

On February 18, Jerry L. Shears, 52, of Coldwater, Mich., was arrested after methamphetamine was found in a pickup that was parked at the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department.

    According to the police report, officers allegedly noticed the odor of burnt marijuana coming from a person who had been in the pickup. Consent was given for officers to search the vehicle and a baggy containing a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine was located in the glovebox of the pickup. Shears allegedly admitted to officers that the meth belonged to him.

    He was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
