Uriel Macias showed why he is one of the top boys soccer players in northeast Indiana Tuesday night in leading his West Noble squad to a 5-2 victory over host Lakeland.
The Charger senior tallied four goals in the win, the first coming just three minutes into the match. After the Lakers took a 2-1 lead on markers by Sammy Garcia (eighth minute) and Eduardo Luna (11th minute), Macias countered with tallies in the 22nd and 27th minutes to put West Noble back in front, 3-2.
Macias struck again 12 minutes into the second half, extending the Charger lead to 4-2. Freshman Uriel A. Macias capped the scoring with a goal in the 72nd minute.
Alejandro Flores, Ivan Ramirez, Abel Zamarripa, Chris Najera and Ricardo Resendiz each earned assists on the West Noble goals. Nick Byler got a helper on Garcia’s tally.
West Noble keepers Joeuany Reyes and Jonathan Moreno combined to make 12 saves. Laker goalie Marco Olivares stopped 10 shots.
The result improved West Noble to 4-0-1 on the season and dropped Lakeland to 1-4.
