Lydia B. Bontreger, 91, Shipshewana, died Monday, April 22, 2013 at her residence.
She was born June 1, 1921, in LaGrange County, to Benjamin and Lizzie (Miller) Bontrager.
She was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She was married May 16, 1987, in LaGrange County, to Elmer M. Bontreger. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2012.
Surviving are five stepsons, Glen (Polly Anna) Bontreger, Topeka, Eldon R. (Sheila), Bontreger, Chanhassen, Minn., Perry (Mary Lou) Bontreger, LaGrnage, Vernon (Sue) Bontreger, LaGrange, and Ora (Christine) Bontreger, Battle Creek, Mich.; seven stepdaughters, Mary (Ez) Ropp, Middlebury, Waneta (Raymond) Yoder, Donna, Texas, Esther E. (Phillip) Yoder, Burr Oak, Mich., Edna M. (Wilbur) Bontrager, Topeka, Freda (Lee) Richardson, Shipshewana, Carolyn Bontreger, Shipshewana, and Ruth (Orla) Bontrager, Shipshewana; 45 stepgrandchildren, 130 stepgreat-grand-children, and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Elmer Eash, three brothers, Manasses, Joseph and Noah Bontrager, and two sisters, Saloma Mast and Barbara Gingerich.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 25, at the Ray Miller residence, 3930N 500W in Shipshewana, with Bishop Jacob Jones and home ministers officiating.
Burial is in Miller Cemetery, LaGrange.
