Lt. Governor Sue Ellsper-mann, in cooperation with the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s Division of Aging, will again sponsor the Golden Hoosier Award. Since 2008 this award has honored Hoosier senior citizens for their lifetimes of service and commitment to their communities.
“This award is a great opportunity to recognize individuals in Indiana cities and towns who have volunteered their time to making the communities they call home a better place to live,” said Ellspermann. “I encourage everyone to nominate that special senior-Hoosier who has made a positive impact on his/her community.”
To be eligible for the Golden Hoosier Award, the nominee must be an Indiana resident, 65 years of age or older, who has volunteered at least three years in their communities. Additional guidelines and the nomination form are available at http://www. in.gov/lg/2532.htm. Completed applications must be submitted by April 25, 2014.
The awards will be presented on Friday, May 30, in the Blue Herron Ballroom of the Garrison Conference Center at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis.
