On March 12, the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department investigated a report of loud music at a trailer park on CR 1150W.
According to the police report, officers made contact with Shelley Booth, Sandra Booth, Philip Griffin, and Ricky Duncan at the lot where the music was being played. The music was heard by approaching officers from a considerable distance.
During the encounter, officers found in plain view paraphernalia associated with the use of controlled substances. As the investigation proceeded, a small amount of marijuana was produced by the homeowner and her daughter. Officers also found multiple items of paraphernalia in the residence.
Shelley Booth, 45, of CR 1150W was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a Class D felony. Sandra Booth, 22, of Constantine, Mich., was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and Visiting a Common Nuisance, both Class A misdemeanors.
Phillip Griffin, 23, of Constantine, Mich., was arrested for Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor, and Visiting a Common Nuisance. Ricky Duncan, 21, of White Pigeon, Mich., was arrested for Visiting a Common Nuisance, a Class A misdemeanor.
The Shipshewana Police Department assisted at the scene.
