Lorraine Weintraut

 

    Lorraine H. Weintraut, 87, LaGrange, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Miller’s Merry Manor of LaGrange. 

    She was born November 30, 1924, in Moreland, Ky., to Arstola and Erma (Ellis) Hall.

    She and her husband owned and operated a farm in Shelby County. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaGrange and a past member of St Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Shelbyville, Ind., where she was an active member of the Daughters of Isabella.    

    She was married February 25, 1944, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Leo E. Weintraut Jr. He preceded her in death.

    Surviving are one daughter, Sue and Kenneth Velie, LaGrange; two sisters, Marie Elkins and Wilma Stainbrook, both of Franklin, Ind.; one niece, Karen Newport, Indianapolis, Ind.; and three nephews, Jack Jr. and Debbie Stainbrook, New Whiteland, Ind., Joseph Elkins, Franklin, Ind., and Ronald Stainbrook, Franklin, Ind. 

    She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Norma Orelak, Margie Hall and Nora Graf, three brothers-in-law, Louis Elkins, Stanley Orelak and Jack Stainbrook Sr., and one nephew, Charles Stainbrook. 

    Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Franklin, Ind., with Father John Beitams officiating. 

    Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin, Ind. 

    Memorials may be directed to the local animal shelter of LaGrange, Shelby, or Johnson County.
