Lois M. Turner

Lois M. Turner, 84, of Rome City, IN died Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN.

Turner was born on June 14, 1931 in Angola, IN to Paul and Sara Bell (Strange) Gunsenhouser and was raised in Butler, IN.

In 1982, she moved from New Haven, IN to Wolcottville. She retired from Westview High School where she worked for many years as the Cafeteria Manager.

Turner was a member of Woodruff Grove United Methodist Church where she sang in the church choir. She was involved with the many fundraising dinners at the church festivals.

On October 29, 1954 in Butler, IN she married James H. Turner; he preceded her in death on March 19, 2000. She then married Ralph Keck, Jr. on May 11, 2002 in Wolcottville, IN; he preceded her in death on June 7, 2003.

Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Pam S. and Craig Cassady of Royal Oak, MI; three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul A. and Marie Turner of New Haven, IN, Stacy H. and Mellyn Turner of Crystal Lake, IL, and Glen W. and Randi Turner of Kendallville, IN; a step-son and daughter-in-law, Kerry and Shelly Keck of Wawaka, IN; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Her parents, a daughter, Virginia M. Engdahl, a son, James Richard Turner, a step-son, Terry Keck, a sister, Helen DeLong, and a brother, Ralph Gunsenhouser also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11:00 am at Woodruff Grove United Methodist Church, 4860 S 450 E, Wolcottville, IN, with Rev. David Mathews officiating.

Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Wolcottville, IN.

Visitation will take place on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange, IN.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
