Local donor challenge to help victims of southern Indiana tornadoes

WestviewJr.-Sr. High School principals Rich Cory and Paul Johnston have announced that a local donor has made a donation pledge through the LaGrange County Community Foundation’s “Emergency Relief Fund” of $10,000 to help the victims of last week’s devastating tornadoes in southern Indiana. Johnston is also president of the LaGrange County Community Foundation Board of Directors.

This same donor has also made an additional pledge to encourage others to give to this effort. The donor has promised that every dollar received by the community foundation for this purpose will be matched with another dollar – up to an additional $10,000. With the original seed donation, generous community gifts and the pledged dollar-for-dollar match, the community foundation is hopeful that $30,000 or more will be collected in this combined effort.

Distribution of supplies and other support in Henryville and other storm-racked areas of southern Indiana will be managed through the LaGrange County American Red Cross. Prior to accepting the principal’s position at Henryville High School, Troy Albert was the principal at Westview Jr.-Sr. High School.

Donations may be sent to the LaGrange County Community Foundation, 109 E. Central Ave. Suite No. 3, LaGrange, IN 46761. On the memo line write “Emergency Relief Fund.”
