Linda S. Newman, 65, LaGrange, died Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Miller’s Merry Manor of LaGrange.
She was born February 6, 1948, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Zebulon and Dorothy Marie (McMana) Wise.
Living most of her life in LaGrange County, she was a dishwasher at several restaurants in LaGrange County. She was a volunteer with Ark Animal Sanctuary in LaGrange County and at Parkview LaGrange Hospital. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in LaGrange, where she sang in the choir. She also sang with many other choirs in the area.
She was married November 24, 1979, in Sturgis, Mich., to Danny C. Newman. He survives.
Also surviving are two brothers, Harry Wise, Kalamazoo, Mich., and Perry Wise, Florida; a foster sister, Sandy Hensler, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a foster brother, Danny Hively, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; and several half- and stepsisters and brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Danny Ray Newman, her stepmother, Rosanna (Fry) Wise; her foster parents, Richard and Ruth Ann Hively, and four brothers, Larry, Jerry, Terry, and Gary Wise.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 16, at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in LaGrange with Reverend Sandra Hutchens and Reverend Thomas McShannock officiating.
Burial is in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
