LIFE Youth Pod hosting conference

The LaGrange Independent Foundation for Endowments (LIFE) is hosting an event for the four local high schools called L.E.A.P., or Leaders Excited About Philanthropy, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 26.

The event will take place at Lakeland High School and focus around the five Ws of philanthropy and leadership: Who, What, When, Where, and Why.

The day will be brimming with speakers, breakout sessions, and activities that will make leadership and philanthropy accessible to every student in attendance. Also highlighting the day will be a nonprofit fair featuring area non-profits and organizations excited to share their story. The day will be brought full circle with a group-wide community service project that will show the students how to apply the knowledge of the day and give them the chance to make a real impact.

Anyone interested should contact a LIFE representative at their school or Laney Kratz for a registration form at or 260-463-4363 or Sam Miller at or 260-336-5833 between 12:40 and 1:40 p.m. and after 3:05 p.m. Monday through Friday and any time on the weekends.

LEAP will be a close-knit event, so only 100 student slots are available. All registration forms need to be in by April 17.

Any non-profit interested in sharing the heart of its organization should contact Laney Kratz for the opportunity to give a five-minute speech or to set up a booth.
