For the second year in a row, Life Care Center of LaGrange, Ind., hosted a Hollywood Awards event.
The event was hosted on February 28 by Michael “Hollywood” Reinhold, social services director for the facility, and more than 50 residents and associates were present for the ceremony. From walking down the red carpet to receiving a Hollywood Award, residents and associates showed off their best looks.
This year, the facility brought something new to the event with resident and employee awards. Employees were nominated by their managers, and residents voted on the individuals in different categories. Associates were also able to vote for residents within the categories.
Categories included Best Dressed, female and male Manager of the Year, female and male Resident of the Year, Most Helpful Resident, Good Samaritan, and the STAR (service, teamwork, attitude and reliability) Award.
This year there was a new category that took everyone by surprise, the Hollywood Award. This award was given to an individual who was spoken highly of by residents and associates, who went above and beyond job expectations and who everyone knew by name.
The recipient of the Hollywood Award was Jeff Brinkman, executive director at Life Care Center of LaGrange.
“I handled all of the nominations and voting forms and spoke with several residents and associates about Jeff Brinkman, prior to the event,” said Amanda Mainstone, director of marketing and admissions. “Everyone spoke highly of him, and I felt we should include an extra category to recognize his achievements in the building.”
A resident expressed how Brinkman goes beyond what his job entails, including shoveling snow with Adam Zimmerman, maintenance director.
