The LaGrange Independent Foundation for Endowments or LIFE Youth Philanthropy Pod has announced its fall grant cycle. Grants are available through this program for local schools and non-profit organizations that are working toward better educational and quality of life opportunities for area youth.
All applications must be submitted to the LaGrange County Community Foundation (LCCF) in LaGrange by end of business day Monday, October 29, 2012. Applications are available for download on the Community Foundation website home page at www.lccf.net. Check out the “Hot Stories” section.
LIFE is composed of twenty volunteer students, grades 8 through 12. Laney Kratz, an adult “navigator” from the LCCF staff coordinates the meeting and community service activities of the pod. Additional LCCF staff members and its board of directors provide guidance and technical support for LIFE grants and scholarships programming.
Besides LCCF mentorship, LIFE activities and leadership are generously supported through grants by the Dekko Foundation, the Lilly Endowment and by the efforts of volunteer educators who serve as “guides” from each of the county’s four public and private schools.
