Beginning August 1, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., volunteers from the LaGrange County Genealogical Society will be available in the Genealogy Department on the first Wednesday of each month to help the public with family history questions and challenges.
Visiting Author: Wanda Brunstetter
Come and meet best-selling author Wanda Brunstetter, the award-winning romance novelist who has led millions of readers to lose their heart in the Amish life. This event is happening on August 17, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Second Saturday Book Club
On July 14, 2012 they will be discussing Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil By John Berendt. On Saturday August 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. the book being discussed is The Curious Incident of the dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. Come join us, we meet on the second Saturday of each month at 11:00 a.m. Stop by after your Saturday morning shopping! Leave the kids with dad for an hour and come talk with other grown-ups! Meet new friends and share your thoughts and ideas. You must be at least 16 to attend.
Hunter Education Class
Hunter education is not just for kids and not just for hunters. The program is for all folks who enjoy the outdoors and have an interest in conversation. Taking a hunting class will allow you to comply with Indiana hunter education law and will also make you a safer and more knowledgeable hunter. The class can also be an excellent refresher for veteran hunters. The class is free and open to all ages, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult and bring a packed meal to eat during the supper break. This is event is happening on Monday August 6, 2012 from 3:00p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Tuesday August 7 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. please register at the LaGrange reference desk or by calling 260-463-2841 x1030.
Henna Body Art
On Saturday August 18,2012 at 2:00 p.m. meet one of our favorite presenters, henna artist Jen Schafer, and learn about the culture, history, and science of henna! Get a free henna design and practice applying henna on paper. If your under 18 and you plan to come alone, please register in person, with your parent or guardian, so they can sign a waiver for you.
