Holiday closings…

All branches of the LaGrange County Public Library will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day and Thursday, Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving Day.

Bookmobile openings…

The bookmobile has a few openings left in its fall schedule. If you have space for the bookmobile to park and you’d like your home or business to become a designated bookmobile stop, call 260-463-2841 ext. 1040.

Photography class…

The library is offering a free photography class at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, led by Guy Thompson. Registration is required.

With the holidays approaching, this class will look at how to get the best photos of the season, regardless of what type of camera you already have or have on your Christmas with list.

Book club to meet…

The Second Saturday Book Club will meet at 11 a.m. on November 9 at the LaGrange County Public Library. This month they’ll be discussing A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway.

Excel class…

By popular demand, Rosetta is repeating her beginning-intermediate class in Microsoft Excel 2010 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

The class will begin with a brief review of basic functions, then go on to explore some of the more advanced functions. As always, Rosetta will answer questions and help students when they get stuck.

The class is free, but registration is required by Friday, Nov. 15.

Doctor Who party…

The LaGrange County Public Library will be hosting a “Who-niversary Party” beginning at noon on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Come celebrate 50 years of Doctor Who and the arrival of the 12th Doctor. Attendees can come in costume and bring a Doctor Who-themed treat to share or just speak with a British accent.

There will be trivia, tea, bananas, Circular Gallifreyan, and more.

Genealogy help…

Volunteers from the LaGrange County Genealogical Society are available in the genealogy department from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesdays to help the public with family history questions and challenges.
