Genealogy trip…

The LaGrange County Public Library and the LaGrange County Genealogical Society are sponsoring a motorcoach trip to our nation’s capital Oct. 21-25.

Genealogists will have two full days to do research. Non-genealogists will have the option to explore the many free museums, memorials, and historic sites instead.

Participants will begin by traveling to the Allegheny Mountains, touring the Gettysburg, Penn., battlefield with a special guide, and visiting Arlington National Cemetery to see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Kennedy graves, and Arlington House. The next two days may be spent doing genealogy research or sightseeing, or splitting time between the two. There will be a seafood buffet at a restaurant on the Potomac River, followed by a tour of the memorials. There will also be a visit to the Flight 93 crash site, where a memorial is being constructed to honor the “hero flight” of 9/11.
