All library locations will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. There will be no Story Time at any branch that day.
Puppets and performers...
Exclusively for 4th-7th graders – Join the famous library puppets to learn how to manipulate puppets and create your own character. You’ll also work with others to write your own script and perform it for an audience of friends and family.
On Wednesday, July 11, participants will meet the library puppets and create their own characters at 6 p.m.
On Thursday, July 12, participants will join a team and write a script beginning at 6 p.m.
Practice for the performance will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 13.
The workshop performance will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 14. There will be a luncheon for participants and their guests after the performance.
Participants who attend the entire workshop and take part in the performance will receive a puppet of their choice to be presented at the Summer Reading Club’s closing program.

A Sports Cup Stacking Challenge will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, at the LaGrange County Public Library.
Sports Stacking is a hands-on program that builds on skills such as coordination, concentration, motivation, determination, perseverance, and teamwork…all the qualities you need to go after your dreams!
Magic man Jim Merrills is a national school presenter, educator, and author whose sport stacking program is fun for the whole family. Are you up to the challenge? One lucky person will win a set of official speed stacking cups and a stacker training DVD. Winner must be under 18 and present at the program to win.
Movie of the Month...
The LaGrange County Public Library’s Movie of the Month at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 6, will be “Big Miracle.”
This movie is also playing at the Topeka Branch Library.
Choose your location and come on out for free popcorn and a movie that’ll leave you with that “feel good’ feeling.
Gathering Night Lights...
If you like capturing fireflies, you’ll need something to put them in. This activity will allow participants to make a simple container for keeping captured fireflies while you observe them. This activity is fun for all ages.
This program will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 9, at the Shipshewana Branch Library, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, at the Topeka Branch Library, and at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, at the LaGrange County Library.

Come hang out with Professor Snoozy and friends at the LaGrange County Public Library every Tuesday in July for stories and activities at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The story on July 3 will be A Trip to Mars by Ruth Young. July 10 will feature ZuZu’s Wishing Cake by Linda Lichelin. The story on July 17 will be Angelina Ballerina by Helen Craig and July 24 will feature the story Underbed by Cathryn Clinton Hoellwarth. July 31 will be a surprise day.

Prickly’s Story Time...
Join Prickly the Hedgehog at the Topeka Branch Library every Wednesday at 10 a.m. for stories and activities. Pull up a comfortable chair and sit back and relax with Prickly on July 11, 18, and 25.

Bookmobile at the 4-H Fair...
The LaGrange County Library Bookmobile will be at LaGrange County 4-H Fairgrounds from 4-8 p.m. beginning Monday, July 9, through Friday, July 13.
The new bookmobile will be parked at the fairgrounds and open for business. Bring your library card or register for a new card while you’re there.
Come shop the selection of used and/or donated books Monday, July 23, through Saturday, July 28, during normal business hours.
The LaGrange County Public Library will conduct a tour of the LaGrange County Courthouse starting at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 27.
