Library Closings…

All branches of the library will be closed on May 28 due to Memorial Day.

Computer class…

On Saturday May 5 the library will be holding a computer class, introducing beginners to windows 7. The class will be held from 2-4 p.m. This class is free but space is limited. Stop in at the LaGrange Library or call 260-463-2841 x 1030 to sign up!

Cooking with herbs…

The LaGrange County Public Library will be holing a class to teach you how to cut your salt intake without eating bland food. ON Tuesday May 15 Ann Fremion of the Purdue extension will present a class on cooking with herbs. Find out just how delicious healthy eating can be.

iPad discussion group…

The LaGrange County Library will be hosting a group discussion on iPad. iPad owners, come discuss your experiences! Recommend your favorite apps, ask for your help with things that confuse you, and share your own knowledge with newbies. Bring your iPad along. The class will be held on Saturday May 16 from 10-11 a.m.

Sci-fi book club…

On Monday May 7 at 6 p.m. the Library will be holding the monthly Sci-Fi book club meeting to discuss Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. Aliens have attacked Earth twice and almost destroyed the human species. To make sure humans win the next encounter, the world government has taken to breeding geniuses – and then sending them to battle school. Andrew “ender” Wiggin is a genius among geniuses; he wins all the games. He is smart enough to know that time is running out, but is he smart enough to save the planet?

Second Saturday Book Club…

On May 12 the LaGrange Library will be hosting its monthly second Saturday book club at 11 a.m. to discuss Cleopatra: a life by Stacy Schiff. For those who think they know enough about Cleopatra of have the enigmatic Egyptian queen all figured out, think again.

Tuesdays are snooze says…

The library is getting ready for the summer reading program, but you can always enjoy a good story with Professor snoozy and his friends. Every Tuesday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. come enjoy stories and activities for preschool aged children.

Dream big…

Coming June 4 is the summer reading. Dream big this summer when you join the summer reading club. Challenge yourself as you set your own reading goal. You can win prizes and attend fun programs! Summer reading is for all ages and reading levels. Watch for more information, dream of participating, and set a goal to be involved this summer.

Movie of the month…

The movie of the month will be shown at the LaGrange Library on Friday May 11, at 6 p.m. We will be watching Born to be Wild. This movie is rated G and we will not be watching the 3D version. The library will be providing the popcorn, and you can bring your own drink in a covered container. Doors open at 5:45 p.m.
