Letter To The Editor - LCYC fundraiser

In this era of the “super store,” when downtowns and small businesses are struggling to survive, it is amazing to see one of those businesses step up to help their community. That is exactly what Radiant Hair Salon has been doing – helping community non-profit organizations by hosting a 5th Friday Event.

The LaGrange Communities Youth Centers was fortunate enough to be the most recent recipient of their generosity. The small staff at Radiant offered to host this fundraiser out of a loyalty to this community and a belief in the mission of the LCYC to help the families and youth of LaGrange County.

They generously held a bake sale, donated raffle prizes, and gave of their time and talents by offering haircuts and massages by donations. All of the proceeds from the event went to the LCYC.

It is heartwarming to see such a wonderful outreaching of kindness in the midst of the current economic struggles that we are all facing today. This event allowed the LCYC organization an opportunity to share their mission with the community while raising much needed funds. It is inspiring to know that even in these stressful times, small town values and benevolence can still be found. We were overwhelmed to see a small business like Radiant Hair Salon display such a spirit of giving to help their community.

Thank you to those who stopped in to purchase baked goods, raffle tickets, and donate to the event. Your support was greatly appreciated.

Thank you again to the staff at Radiant Hair Salon – Cindy, Valerie, Emily, and Kara – for allowing us to share the work of the LCYC with the community. Your service and commitment to helping organizations like ours is remarkable and deeply appreciated.

We urge the community to support any future efforts of Radiant Hair Salon in their 5th Friday events.
