Blood Drive Volunteer
To the Editor:
Because of the weather and people were not able to get to Blood drives or drives were canceled there is need to encourage donors and new donors to seriously to take time and give blood.
There are three drives in April that I would like to encourage you to donate but if you read the paper you will notice there will be others in the area also. If it seems that we are looking for donors all the time it is because it blood is needed and supply is low. I would hope you realize that it could be you or a member of your family who needs blood and you would want it to be available. You can help.
Blood drives coming up are at Farmstead Inn in Shipshewana on April 1 starting at 10:00 to 4:00.
The second is scheduled for St. Joseph's Catholic Church in LaGrange on Tuesday , April 8 from 11:00 to 5:00 and the third is at Maple Grove Church in Topeka from 11:00 to 5:00.
If you don't have an appointment you may call 1-800-Give Blood for an appointment. If you are one of those people who have thought about it now is the time to start donating. You may save a life or 3 lives because 1 unit of blood can be separated to help three people. Give it a try. You will get sandwiches, cookies and drinks.
