Letter To The Editor - Animal Welfare

Debbie Bontrager

President, Animal Welfare Association, Inc.

To the Editor:

Animal Welfare Association, Inc. is reporting the results of our annual “Spay Day” participation. With the partnership of our local veterinarians, Animal Welfare Association, Inc. helped to spay and neuter 267 pets.

We want to thank our participating veterinarians, without whose skills and knowledge the spays and neuters could not have been done: King Animal Care Clinic; LaGrange Veterinary Clinic; Northside Veterinary Clinic; South Milford Veterinary Hospital; H.O.P.E. for Animals Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic; Countryside Animal Clinic.

We also appreciate every pet guardian who chose to fix their pets to help to stop the flow of unwanted animals into local shelters. Animal Welfare is again the recipient of a Spay/Neuter Grant from HSUS and will use the funds to help fix stray cats.

We offer ongoing transport to the H.O.P.E. for Animals Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic in Ft. Wayne the second Thursday of each month. Call 260-463-3406 with questions or to schedule a spot on the transport.

Keep an eye out for our 2012 Wiggle Waggle Dog Walk coming up on May 19. This is our big fundraiser each year and funds our annual Spay Day assistance.
