Leona M. Long, 86, LaGrange, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Miller’s Merry Manor of LaGrange.
She was born December 3, 1925, in Greenfield Township, LaGrange County, to Weldon J. and Marie C. (Hackett) Larimer.
Living all her life in LaGrange County, she was a homemaker and registered nurse at the former LaGrange County Hospital. She was a member of Brighton Chapel Brethren Church, where she was the organist and a member of the women’s missionary society.
She was married October 27, 1946, in Orland, to John L. Long. He preceded her in death on October 18, 1997.
Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Ann Long, Ft. Wayne; one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce A. and Kathleen Long, Aurora, Ill.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, John Douglas Long and Robert Charles Long, one sister, Louise Damer, and one brother, Wayne Larimer.
Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Friday, April 6, at Brighton Chapel Brethren Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Brighton Chapel Brethren Church with Reverend Rustin Krapfl and Reverend George Youstra officiating.
Burial will be in Brighton Cemetery, rural Howe.
