Lela Grace Miller, 97, Elkhart, Ind., died Thursday, August 22, 2013.
She was born October 7, 1915, in Benzonia, Mich., to Lewis and Fannie (Kauffman) Morningstar.
She was a homemaker and adult Sunday School teacher at Plato Mennonite Church for many years. She worked in the cafeteria at Shipshewana-Scott Elementary School and volunteered at the LaGrange County Clothes and Food Basket for many years. She moved to Hubbard Hill Estates assisted living facilities in 1999.
She was married September 23, 1936, in Topeka, to Harold L. Miller. He preceded her in death on September 15, 1985.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Carol and Donald Troyer, LaGrange, Joyce and Phil Troyer, LaGrange, and Shirley Beach, Elkhart, Ind.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Jackie Miller, Elkhart, Ind., and Dean and Lana Miller, Howe; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Flossie King, Fern Hartlzer, Esther Oswald and Mabel Sharick, and eight brothers, Titus, Ora, Bill, Melvin, Clayton, Floyd, Jessie and Arthur Morningstar.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 26, at Emma Mennonite Church with Reverend Richard Martin officiating.
Burial is in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana.
