Lela “Jean” Birch, 76, Howe, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Miller’s Merry Manor of LaGrange.
She was born September 21, 1937, in Yakama, Wash., to Bert and Mable (Pace) Whitchurch.
She was the manager of the LaGrange Apartments until her retirement.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Julie Williams, Pinon Hills, Calif., Stephen and Sandra Williams, Ligonier, Ind., and Daniel and Kelly Parks, Albion, Ind.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Palmer Short, Howe, and Susan and Rodger Owsley, Howe; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles Whitchurch, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gerald Birch, and one infant sister.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 7, at Carney-Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange with Reverend Kenneth Weaver officiating.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Howe, at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to Riley’s Children Hospital or Hospice.
