Lee Borntrager

Lee Roy Borntrager, 76, Goshen, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 in Sarasota, Fla.

    He was born October 2, 1938, in Canton, Ohio, to Chris (Giddle) and Lydia Ann (Miller) Borntrager. 

    He worked at Star Tank for 16 years, pastored a church near Oneida, Ky., for seven years, and then owned and operated Topeka Supply for 23 years. He was a member of Siloam Fellowship in Goshen and also served as a Gideon for 22 years.  

    He was married June 28, 1959, in Townline Mennonite Church, to Pauline Kaufman. She survives.

    Also surviving are three sons, Doyle (Debra) Borntrager, Goshen, Don (Gwen) Borntrager, Farmington, Ark., and Dale (Claudia) Borntrager, Iron Mountain, Mich.; one daughter, Diann (Phil) Bontrager, Cromwell, Ind.; 12 grandchildren one great-grandchild on the way; six brothers, Calvin Borntrager, Middlebury, Lloyd (Evelyn) Borntrager, Goshen, Urie (Edna) Borntrager, Sarasota, Fla.,  Ernie (LaVerda) Borntrager, Goshen, Milton (JoAnn) Borntrager, Louisville, Ky., and Larry Borntrager, Middlebury; and two sisters, Verda (Benny) Vallejo, Phoenix, Ariz., and Elsie Borntrager, Goshen. 

    He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, David Larry Borntrager.

    Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at Siloam Fellowship in Goshen.

    Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 17, at Siloam Fellowship in Goshen with Pastor Vern Hostetler officiating.

    Burial will be in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.
