Leabell S. Miller, 82, Shipshewana, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014.
She was born July 16, 1931, in Inman, Kan., to Menno and Florence (Kauffman) Troyer.
She was a homemaker and a registered nurse, working for several years in hospitals, doctor’s offices and hospice settings in Colorado and Michigan. She was a member of Shore Mennonite Church in Shipshewana.
She was married July 17, 1954, in Inman, Kan., to Wayne M. Miller. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kathy (Dennis) Troyer, Shipshewana, and Becky Manning, Grayling, Mich.; four sons, Kevin (Rebecca Stoltzfus) Miller, Ithaca, N.Y., Jonathon (Christian Yoder) Miller, Washington, D.C., Jeff (Kay Nofziger) Miller, Goshen, and Eric (Melody Short) Miller, Bellingham, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Marilyn (Peter) Hartman, Hesston, Kan.; and two brothers, Curtis (Kathy) Troyer, Middlebury, and Paul Troyer, Hesston, Kan.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepmother, Charity (Gingerich) Troyer.
Memorial service was held Sunday, January 19, at Shore Mennonite Church in Shipshewana with Carl Horner officiating.
At her request, her body was bequeathed to the Indiana University School of Medicine. Burial will take place at a later date in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana.
