As summer rolls in, the LaGrange Communities Youth Centers, Inc. (LCYC) is kicking it off right with a summer day camp for students in grades 2-7. Three week-long sessions will be offered.
Students are permitted to attend only one of the sessions. A camp session for students in grades 2-4 will be offered June 23-27 and July 28 through Aug. 1. A session for students in grades 5-7 will be held July 21-25.
Each session of this summer day camp is free for students and includes transportation from each of the county’s high schools and lunch each day. The camp will meet in different locations depending on the day’s activities. Some of this year’s activities include ceramics, a visit to Cook’s Bison Ranch, and swimming.
Registration deadlines are:
Week 1 (June 23-27) – June 17
Week 2 (July 21-25) – July 15
Week 3 (July 28-Aug. 1) –July 15
Space is limited, so register as early as possible.
The goal of the LCYC is to provide the youth of this community an opportunity to continue learning and having fun after the school year has ended. Registration forms for these camps are available in school offices or at the LaGrange, Topeka or Shipshewana libraries.
For more information, call the LCYC office at (260) 463-0334. As school comes to a close, the LCYC hopes to continue to provide positive experiences to the youth of this community.
