As summer rolls in, the LaGrange Communities Youth Centers, Inc. (LCYC) is kicking it off right with a summer day camp for students in grades 2-7. Three week-long sessions will be offered.
Students are only permitted to attend one of the sessions. A camp session for students in grades 2-4 will be offered June 24-28 and July 22-26. A session for students in grades 5-7 will be held July 15-19.
Each session of this summer day camp is free for students and includes transportation from designated bus stops and lunch each day. The camp will meet in different locations depending on the day’s activities. Some of this year’s activities include canoeing, pottery making, and swimming.
The goal of the LCYC is to provide the youth of this community an opportunity to continue learning and having fun after the school year has ended. Registration forms for these camps are available in school offices or at the LaGrange, Topeka or Shipshewana libraries.
Registration deadline is June 14 for grades 2-4 and July 1 for grades 5-7. Space is limited and students will be registered in the order the forms are received. No registrations will be taken by phone. Late forms will only be accepted if space is available.
For more information, call the LCYC office at (260) 463-0334. As school comes to a close, the LCYC hopes to continue to provide positive experiences to the youth of this community. The LCYC is able to offer this opportunity free to all eligible youth thanks to grants from the LaGrange County Community Foundation, REMC Operation Round-up, and L.I.F.E.
