Following on the heels of a generous gift from the Olive B. Cole Foundation, the LaGrange County Community Foundation (LCCF) has been inspired to announce a very special dollar-for-dollar donation opportunity.
Local residents who are looking for an effective way to share their good fortune during the holidays are encouraged to step up to the Community Foundation’s “We Give Thanks” Community Challenge.
From Thanksgiving week through the Christmas holiday, the LCCF pledges that every dollar donated to the LCCF’s Good Samaritan Fund will be matched by another dollar and that both dollars will be awarded to local food pantries. The total match amount pledged by the LCCF is $10,000. Including individual donations, the total award to pantries could reach $20,000 or more. With oversight from the LCCF Board of Directors, final distribution from the “We Give Thanks” Community Challenge will be made to the pantries in January.
Make donation checks out to the LaGrange County Community Foundation. Include the words “Good Samaritan Fund” on the memo line.
