Larry Carroll

 

Larry L. Carroll, Ft. Wayne, died Monday, July 30, 2012 at Parkview Memorial Hospital.

    He was born in Bluford, Ill., to Ross W. and Vina (Rudd) Carroll.

    He was a resident of Ft, Wayne since October 2003, formerly of LaGrange. He owned his own business, Carroll Enterprises Inc., publishing the Merchants Magazine for small businesses in the Howe, Shipshewana, LaGrange, Middlebury, Kendallville, Elkhart and Sturgis, Mich., area. He also did advertisements for various restaurants in the tri-state area. He ministered in music throughout the tri-state area and through the Midwest. He also did bookings for many groups, most notably the Northmen. He was a Bluford High School graduate and a licensed general class ham radio operator. He served in the U.S. Air Force for eight years as a sheet metal repairman.

    He was married October 4, 2003, at the Faith Nazarene Church in Evansville, Ind., to Lois J. Fox (Briner. She survives.

    Also surviving are a son-in-law, Thomas W. Ward; three grandchildren, Ashley, Rebecca and Michael Ward; one brother, Ross (Lee) Carroll, Fairfield, Ill.; and two sisters-in-law, Avis (Leland) Carroll, Evansville, and Virginia (Bill), Fairfield, Ill.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepdaughter, Shawn Marie Ward, two brothers, Bill and Leland Carroll, and two sisters, Phyllis Pepple and Mable Carroll.

    Services were held Thursday, August 2, at Three Rivers Wesleyan Church in Ft. Wayne with Pastor Larry Schmoekel and Chaplain Ellen Rhodes officiating.

    Burial is in Lindenwood Cemetery, Ft. Wayne.
