Seven wrestlers from LaGrange County won individual flight championships Saturday at the Land of Lakes Conference tournament.
Prairie Heights and Westview each claimed three titles, while Lakeland snagged the other one.
Doug Levitz, Jed Levitz and Kade Gerbers were the Panthers who nabbed individual crowns. Doug Levitz captured the 125-pound bracket title with a pin of Westview’s Camryn Swartz in 57 seconds.
Jed Levitz needed 51 seconds to pin Jeremiah Bock of Central Noble in the finals of the 130-pound group. Gerbers took even less time than that (41 seconds) in pinning Zach Ratliff of West Noble to win the 160-pound flight.
Brody Long, Dalton Misner and Isaiha Nichols were the Warriors who placed first in their division. Long pinned Drake Marchand of Fairfield in a mere 31 seconds to win the 75-pound group.
Misner sealed up the 110-pound championship with a pin of Central Noble’s Kaleb Smith in 2:20. Nichols earned a wild, 13-11 decision victory over Alex Deluna of West Noble in the 115-pound decider.
Logan Barnes took home the Lakeland blue ribbon. Barnes stuck Logan Monteith of Central Noble in 59 seconds to grab the 80-pound bracket title.
Fairfield, which won seven individual championships, also claimed the team title with a score of 354 points. Prairie Heights was second with 304 and Westview third with 285.
