Laker Volleyballers win first at Goshen Invitational

Lakelandearned its first victory of the 2012 volleyball season Saturday at the Goshen Invitational.

The Lady Lakers rallied to beat South Bend Adams, 23-25, 25-12, 15-12 in the second of their three matches in the tourney. Abi Thompson led the attack with five kills and six service points with three aces. Nikki Chavez-Fearnow produced four kills, Rebecca Wooster three kills and three blocks, and Elaine Denney six assists.

Lakelandfell to Goshen (25-12, 25-11) and Northridge (25-17, 25-5) in its other two tilts. Wooster had three kills against Goshen.
