Lakeland split a varsity baseball doubleheader with Fort Wayne Luers Saturday in LaGrange
The Knights tallied three runs in the top of the seventh inning to win the opener, 7-4. Morgan Moore socked a solo home run and William Kelly poked a two-run single to lead the Laker attack.
Dylan Pranger started on the mound for Lakeland and took the pitching loss. Pranger allowed seven hits, walked two and struckout four in 6.1 innings of work.
The Lakers bounced back to win the nightcap, 8-5. Kelly went 4-4 at the dish with a double and two RBI. Sammy Garcia laced a couple of doubles, while Pranger, Derrick Dunn and Kyle Casper all poked RBI hits.
Dunn and Alex Pearson did the pitching for the Lakers. The duo combined to give up seven hits, walk four and whiff three.
Lakeland now stands 4-12-1 on the campaign.
