Lakeland finished 11th out of 21 teams in the Lafayette Jeff Invitational boys golf tournament held this past Saturday at The Battlegrounds Golf Club.
The Lakers compiled a score of 332 in the event, which featured several of the leading contenders for the 2013 IHSAA state tournament title that starts with sectional play later this week. Crown Point fired a sizzling, 299 to grab team honors, followed by Warsaw with 306.
Isaac Kilgore paced Lakeland with a 79. Spencer Mortola was a shot back with an 80. Jordan Aldrich carded an 85, Zac Paxson an 88 and Brad Pearson a 93.
Matt Meneghetti of Lake Central won individual medalist honors with an even-par 72. Matthew Mudd and Mike Lee, both of Crown Point, tied for second with rounds of 73.
