Lakeland tennis team downs Wawasee


Lakelandswept the doubles matches and won two of three singles bouts in a 4-1 varsity boys tennis triumph at Wawasee Wednesday night.

Blake Balka and Robbie Arend teamed up to zip past Dylan Houser and Todd Houser in the No. 1 doubles tilt. Sam Miller and Ian Sonner combined to shade Doug Hapner and Chase Myers in the No. 2 doubles contest.

Dalton Schmidt and Austin Buonocore delivered singles wins for the Lakers.

Coach Rob West’s Lakeland squad started their season Tuesday night with a 5-0 loss to visiting DeKalb. The Barons won all five matches in straight sets.
