The Lakeland School Board voted Monday to move ahead with plans for a new administration center for the corporation as they approved advertising for bids for construction.
The advertisement for bids is being published in today’s LaGrange News, and will be reprinted in the LaGrange Standard and News for the next two weeks.
A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for April 30. Bids will be opened at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, in the administration center. A recommendation is expected to be made at the May 20 board meeting.
The board also changed its May meeting date from May 13 to May 20.
In other business:
The board received an update on recommended energy saving projects around the district. The current recommended list was estimated at $5.8 million. It was noted the list is not final.
The items include new control systems and equipment along with insulation, fixture replacement, and other energy saving changes.
The board accepted the retirement of Lima-Brighton Elementary teacher Marlene Houser.
The board accepted the retirement of Parkside Elementary teacher Kris Dickerson.
