Lakeland looks at new cafeteria software

Lakeland School Corporation is looking to updates its software system used in the district’s cafeterias.

Food Service Director Tammy Fennell gave a report to the school board Monday evening on the planned change, noting that new software is provided by the same company that provides the current system. However, the new system is “more user friendly,” Fennell said, and works better with other programs already in use, such as Power School.

Fennell also noted that the new software will allow the school to track records better, will post deposits into students’ accounts faster, and will automatically refund for changes in a student’s reduced lunch status.

The new software is expected to be in place by April.
