Lakeland golfers roll in NECC matchup

Lakeland swept NECC boys golf rivals Fremont (172-182) and Central Noble (172-194) Monday afternoon at Lake James Golf Course in Angola.

Lukas Long fired a two-over par 38 to lead the Lakers and gain medalist honors. Three strokes back with a 41 was LHS teammate Brad Pearson.

Brody Dunn paced Fremont with a 44. Kaleb Smith led Central Noble with a 46.

The two wins improved the Lakers to 4-1 against NECC competition.

Lakeland also won JV decisions over both Fremont (192-201) and Central Noble (192-214). Alec Wannemacher and Coy Paxson each carded 45’s to top the Laker reserve scorecard.
