There were two contested races for the Lakeland School Board in Tuesday’s election.
Four candidates were vying for the District 4 seat, currently held by Chad Olinger.
Former Lakeland teacher Sue Keenan had a clear lead from the first precinct reporting in, and never lost that lead through the evening. Keenan would end up with over 52 percent of the vote.
Olinger would place second, receiving 23 percent of the vote.
Other challengers were Susan McClish, who received 17 percent of the vote, and Jaima Aldrich, who received just under 8 percent.
Incumbent Carey McKibben, who represents District 5 on the Lakeland Board, retained his seat with 60 percent of the vote. He was challenged by former board member Dean Domer, who got 40 percent of the vote Tuesday.
Bob Murphy ran unopposed, and will take outgoing board member Steve Bowen’s position after the first of the year.
