Lakeland Boys trounce Eastside

A 24-6 spurt to start the game helped boost Lakeland to a convincing, 86-55 triumph over visiting Eastside in NECC boys basketball action last Friday night.

Spencer Mortola spearheaded the potent Laker attack with 29 points. Mortola canned 10 field goals, including a three-pointer, and swished 8-10 free throw tries en route to his season-high scoring total.

Three of Mortola’s teammates also found their way into double figures. Jalen King fired in 14 points, while Marco Olivares and Cody Richardson each dropped in 13.

Austen Brow poured in 31 points to lead Eastside.

The victory improved the Lakers to 2-1 in NECC play and to 3-4 overall.
