Lakeland boys down Howe

 

Lakeland handled Howe School and West Noble in 8th grade boys basketball last week.

Eli Wallace led a balanced Laker attack with 10 points in a 47-11 thumping of Howe. Britain Isaacs had nine points, Drew Chrisman seven, Erik Mellinger and Isaiah Lehman six apiece, Tanner Raatz four, Brennan Weimer and Christian Roose two each, and Kaleb Wadsworth one.

Isaacs racked up 21 points, four steals and three assists in powering Lakeland past West Noble, 40-29. Mellinger chipped in 11 markers and seven rebounds, Chrisman added seven points and seven boards, Lehman four rebounds and three assists, and Raatz one point and four rebounds.

Fremont jumped out to a big lead then coasted to a 54-35 NECC boys basketball triumph over the visiting Lakeland Lakers last Friday.

The Eagles built advantages of 14-7 and 27-12 after the first two quarters. They then put together a 14-8 surge in the third stanza to go up by 21 (41-20).

Tyler Jenkins poured in 20 points, snagged 11 rebounds and dished out nine assists to pace the Fremont attack. Jenkins also led the winners in steals with four.

Spencer Mortola had 10 points and Chandler Mynhier nine for the Lakers.
