Lakeland baseballers drub Bethany Christian

The Lakeland varsity baseball team opened its 2013 season with a bang Monday night in LaGrange by blasting three home runs in a 15-0 pasting of Bethany Christian.

Morgan Moore clubbed two of the Laker round-trippers, one plating three runs and the other going for a grand-slam. Kyle Casper smacked the other Lakeland homer to go with a single and four RBI.

William Kelly and Dustin Cunningham each went 3-3 at the dish for Lakeland, with Kelly knocking in two runs and Cunningham scoring four times. Dalton Schmidt and Nick Byler each had two hits.

Alex Pearson, Jalen Priestley and Kelly all took turns on the pitching mound for the Lakers. The trio combined to allow just one hit, walk one and strikeout 11.
