Lakeland baseball team nips West Noble

A four-run sixth inning lifted Lakeland past West Noble, 7-5 in NECC baseball Tuesday night in LaGrange.

Austin Keckler began the Laker rally by drawing a walk, while the next batter, Alex Pearson, lined a single. Consecutive RBI singles by Hunter Sams and Dustin Cunningham then tied the score at 5-all.

Dalton Schmidt then stepped to the plate and ripped a double, bringing home both Sams and Cunningham with the go-ahead markers. Pearson, who relieved starter Jalen Priestley in the fifth, held West Noble scoreless in the top of the seventh to secure the win.

Cunningham went 4-4 at the dish with three runs.

Drew Wiley drove in three runs with a home run and a single to lead the Charger attack. Kyler Warble poked two hits.
