Lakeland and Fremont battled to a 5-5 deadlock in varsity baseball last Thursday. The game was halted after seven innings due to darkness.
The Lakers took a 5-2 lead into the seventh inning, only to have the Eagles knot the score with a three-run rally. Nate Beatty blasted a home run and a single to pace the Fremont attack. Ryan Sichling poked a couple of doubles and Kaleb Hayes lined a two-run single.
Derrick Dunn, Kyle Casper and Dylan Pranger recorded the lone hits for the Lakers, who also benefitted from five Fremont errors. Casper and Hunter Sams both garnered RBI.
William Kelly pitched all seven innings for Lakeland. Kelly did not walk a batter and struckout 10.
