Lakeland and East Noble split a varsity baseball twin-bill Saturday in LaGrange.
Hunter Sams cracked a home run and pitched five innings in leading the host Lakers to a 12-8 triumph in the opening game. Dustin Cunningham had three hits, three runs and two RBI. Jackson Evans drove in three runs and both Dalton Schmidt and Nick Byler lined two safeties and netted two RBI.
Sams fanned nine Knights and walked five in picking up the win. William Kelly worked the final two frames to earn a save, striking put four and walking two.
East Noble came back to win the nightcap, 22-3. Schmidt led the Laker offense with three hits.
