LaGrange Town Council seats two new members

The LaGrange Town Council began 2012 by swearing in its two newest members last Tuesday evening. Greg Kenner and Ray Hoover took their spots at the table for the council’s first meeting.

The council voted to have Mark Eagleson serve as the council president and Richard Greene as vice president.

The council was told that the former Brady Stockyards had been purchased and that the new owner, Joe Miller, has asked for town water. The water line was expected to be installed later in the week.

The council was also informed that the former Atwood Industries building on US 20 east of LaGrange is being rented in sections.

Focus LaGrange is requesting matching funds for a grant, it was reported. The group is currently working on getting 501(c)3 status.

The council approved signing an agreement for the donation of a lot next to the town’s parking lot to provide additional spaces.

The next town council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, in the town hall.
