On Thursday morning at approximately 12:30 am, LaGrange County Deputies were informed of a vehicle pursuit that was headed north on State Rd 3 from Noble County.
An Indiana State Trooper had attempted to make a traffic stop on a White Ford Taurus in Kendallville when the vehicle refused to stop. LaGrange County Deputies caught up with the pursuit in the area of 600 S State Rd 3 in LaGrange County.
The pursuit continued north on State Rd 3 until the vehicle turned west on County Road 200 S. The vehicle came upon 500 E and began taking several county roads in an attempt to evade officers.
Speeds during the pursuit ranged from 50 mph up to 100 mph.
The vehicle eventually crashed in the yard of 1820 S 485 E. The driver then attempted to run from the vehicle on foot into a wooded area, but was apprehended by officers.
The driver was identified as Mark J. Frye of LaGrange. There was also a female passenger in the vehicle; she was identified as Katrina Kelly of Kendallville.
Prior to the pursuit entering LaGrange County, the driver was observed throwing items out of the vehicle associated with the Manufacturing of Methamphetamine.
Both occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody by the Indiana State Police, and transported back to Noble County where they will face multiple charges. Mark J. Frye will also face charges in LaGrange County for Resisting Law Enforcement with a Motor Vehicle, a Class D Felony.
Agencies involved in the pursuit included: LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Kendallville, Avilla, Lagrange, Shipshewana, and Wolcottville Police Departments.
