LaGrange County Public Library news


Holiday closings...

The LaGrange County Public Library and all its branches will be closed on Monday, Dec. 24, for Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 25 for Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 31, for New Year’s Eve, and Tuesday, Jan. 1, for New Year’s Day.

Professor Snoozy and friends...

Enjoy great stories at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. every Tuesday at LaGrange County Public Library on Spring St. in LaGrange.

On Dec. 4, the story will be The Longest Christmas List Ever. Trevor’s Christmas list is out of control. Will Santa bring him anything? Come find out!

On Dec. 11, Night Tree will be read. This story shows a Christmas tree activity that families might want to try.

On Dec. 18, Mortimer’s Christmas Manger will be the story. Mortimer Mouse wants a new house. This story refers to Jesus and the Christmas story.

Genealogy assistance...

Volunteers from the LaGrange County Genealogical Society are available in Genealogy Department on the first Wednesday of each month to help the public with family history questions and challenges.

The next session will be from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Book club to meet...

The Second Saturday Book Club will meet at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Bread Box Bakery, 120 N. Morton St. in Shipshewana. This month’s book is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith.

The club is open to anyone age 16 and older who wishes to attend.

iPad discussion group...

Bring your iPad to the library and share tips, tricks, and favorite apps. The next meeting will be from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 10.

Walk-ins are welcome.
